Default video camera to DVD???

ok, so i have a really old video camera. from like 1990's. and there's no way to hook it up to a computer. i can record the tapes onto a VHS. but can you record it onto a DVD??? cuz i want to put them on my computer and that's the only way i could think to do it. unless there's another way. please help!!! and by the way... i'm not that good with technology so step-by-step helps alot. =] thanks.

well, i had a reel from my parents wedding that i had no idea on a way to transfer, as far as going from vhs to dvd on ur own is upractical, if it was me like i did with the reel film i had i brought it to a camera shop and they had it done in just a couple days, other than that i dont kno hwo you could do it, it only costed me a few bux so id go with that option
