Default is there any way to view/transfer videos from 8 MM tapes without investing in...

...another camcorder? I have a whole bunch of tapes and my camcorder is not working. I would like to put the videos I have onto VHS or even DVD if possible, but need to be able to view them. I know that there isn't an adapter, one of those VHS tapes that you just slip the camcorder tape into-those don't work. ...is there any way at all? aside from buying a new one....

I believe WALMART lets you return merchandise. While I'm not advocating just taking advantage of it but if you need a new camcorder why not try one out? You can use it to record the vids to PC and you might end up liking and keeping it but would have an option to return it if not satisfied.
