Default Sony PDVM-184ME camcorder tape

Does anyone here have any experience with Sony PDVC-184ME minidv tape with IC chip? According to the claims, it:

Quote:
features a metal evaporated layer of 100% pure cobalt and optimized "DLC" Diamond-Like Carbon coating which results in high durability & maximum runability in the tape transport as well as a special surface treatment & finishing process which reduces drop out rate of DVCAM by 50% over consumer DV.
This is supposed to make it possible actually to record 184 minutes without problem.

If anyone knows anything about the reliability of this, please tell me what you know. We routinely video meetings which last as long as two hours, and the ability to do so without changing tape would be very useful to us.

Thank you.

Are you recording with a MiniDV camcorder or DVCam? Those tapes are for DVCam camcorders and are not compatible with MiniDV.

Assuming you are using DVCam, they should work as advertised to get 184 minutes of recording.
