Default Sony DCR-HC62 MiniDV handycam...is it right for me?

I have a DVD burner on my computer. I am using WindowsXP. I will be recording pictures of my 5 children indoors and outdoors. Does it have decent lighting(flash) for inside and is the audio o.k.? The battery...does it last long? DV is digital video...does that mean I have to constantly by new tapes? Can't I just upload everything to my computer. Is this process (handycam to computer to DVD) difficult and time consuming? I have a reg. dig. camera so still shots are of no importance. One more thing....I am buying it in Canada and using it in Europe...how do I charge the battery?Thank you in advance for your advice and input everyone!

I think, knowing you as I do, that the DCR-HC63 MiniDV would better suit you.
