| Hello I work as a highways inspector (looking after the roads, finding and reporting defects such as cracks, potholes, worn white lines etc etc). I am using the HDC-HS9 (hard drive / DS card) camera with a windscreen mount to do video surveys of the roads. I am trying to get my head around the way in which this camera stores and organises my recordings as what it calls 'scenes'. I gather that it splits recordings (no matter if you simply pause recording or turn the camera off & on) into scenes and groups them by date. This works fine when reviewing on the unit itself but I run into problems when using the 'panasonic HD writer' software to get the video onto my computer. The files sizes are just too large as it only lets me transfer an entire video file, which is ALL the scenes on any one day. My computer can not cope with this. I want to be able to select scenes to transfer one by one. Better still, is there a way to get the camera not to record like this in the first place and to work in a more simple mode where for example each seperate recording you make (when you pause / unpause) it is saved as it's own file? any advice appreciated!
