Default My computer cannot read dvd-rw?

I recorded a dance onto my uncles camcorder and finalized it but when I try to view it on the computer, it won't read it. Although, when I put it into my dvd player, I can view it on my tv. Why won't my computer read it so I can send it to others.

does your computer have a DVD Drive in it, or only a CD Drive? If it only has a CD Drive it wont read DVD Disks. DVD-RW has been around since 1999, but only about 75% of DVD players can read the disks. Same with DVD Drives. You probably have a DVD Drive that does not support the DVD-RW format of DVD Disks.

Pal look on the pc box right next where you put the cd if it writes only Cd-ram then your Pc can't read DVD. If it has both and doesn't write DvD rewritable you need to put one drive for it!!

First question to you is, does it play in other dvd? If the answer is no. Then the problem is that you need to get a software that plays dvd. Because even though the computer has a DVD burner and player, you still need a software to play DVDs. My friends computer has a dvd player, but Windows media player won't play it. After I install Nero Showtime it worked. Try that, it doesn't have to be Nero Showtime, but some kind of software that plays dvds.
