Default I'd like to take shots of my travels by car with my camcorder. How shall I

fix the camcorder into the car? I just got a tripod, looking for a safe fixing solution. Anyone done that before?

I've tried filming in the car with a tripod...in the passenger seat...used cargo straps to secure it.BUT...it still wobbled too much, so I built a camera stand for the passenger seat out of wood. Heavier...didn't wobble. That worked great!-Aztec276

I don't think I would fix it to the car if it is moving it will vibrate like hell and your movie will be terrible but your body acts like a shock absorber for it so holding it will lessen this effect and you will be able to pan around, I take photos of my models to blog on my yahoo 360 but I need a tripod to hold it steady.

For about £45 you can buy a special camera mount, made by Manfrotto. Will attach with suckers to either windscreen or dash or both. Has some 'springing' in it to absorb car's movement. This is what the professionals use. Look for 'Calumet' in your local phone book, they are professional photo equipment suppliers.

I've found selleotape wrapped right around the car with the camera on the roof is good - make sure you use two or three rolls . Unfortunately , there is a slight problem as you will no longer me able to open the doors .
