Default i want to convert a avi file film i downloaded from a torrent to dvd format?

what format do i need to convert to so the dvd disc will play on a normal dvd player, other disks i have done only play on my pc, but wont play on my normal dvd player, keeps saying its a data disk,, any ideas please

first i assume that you have a dvd burniing prog ie Nero or something like that. i use nero 1 open nero vision 2 then make dvd select dvd-video3 add video files select your film takes a few moments 4 next add menu if you want keep pressing next until you get to burn, put your disk in and burn it it will take about 2 hours to do as it needs to convert the video file.Oh by the way you are not supposed to download films off the net HA HAGood luck RR
