| firewire port or card slot. Is it possible? I've been searching on the net to see if there's any way around this and there are so many conflicting answers! I only have USB ports on my laptop and wondered if I could get a USB to firewire adaptor. Some reports on the net say this is impossible though I have found some on the net for sale. Are these useless then? If anyone has used one of these I'd be very grateful for feedback. Alternatively, my partner has a laptop with a card slot but he has Vista which he's had problems with installing things like webcams etc so if we used his would we face problems? |

| i bought a sony minidv camcorder for my sister that supports usb transfer, a firewire is preffered because of the fast transfer rate but a usb can still do the job, only a bit slower. when buying a camcorder, you can look up the specifications whether it has usb supposrt or not, and as in the case the camcorder i bought, they provided the usb cable in the bundled unit. |
