I am a first time camcorder owner, and just purchased a Vixia HF 100. Can I transfer my videos from the sdhd card to dvds? I have a dvd burner on my computer. The software provided by Canon is vague and the pdf manual does not address this. Also I would like to e-mail videos to family members. Is there any relatively cheap software I can purchase that would be easy for a novice like me?

You can burn the files to DVD. I would recommend trying something like Roxio Easy Media Creator, which includes MyDVD as its DVD authoring solution. It makes it easy to go from most file based video formats to DVD.

When I discovered the difference between dvd+rw amd dvd-rw I was able to burn. Dvd-rw was the ticket.
