Default How can i connect a firewire cable into pc, if my pc does not have a firwire port.?

Is there any adapter or any other device that can be used in stead?I am trying to connect my camcorder to a pc to upload movies and i found out lately that my camcopredr in fact had a firewire port, which I wasn't aware of, but the problem is now my pc.can anyone help me please?Thanks

Yes, buy a firewire or 1394 PCI adpater card. Google it and you'll find loads. 1394B is even faster but more expensive.

There are two ways,either buy a PCI Firewire card ( these typically have 3 or 4 Firewire ports) and insert it in a spare PCI slot in your motherboard.orbuy a USB2.0 Firewire Adapter and plug it into a spare USB Port.Personally I would go for the PCI Card option. There are other variants on this which are called Combo Cards. These have 3 extra USB Ports and 3 Firewire ports. All should be available from any half decent Computer store or on line supplier. Cost should be less than £10.00 for the PCI Firewire option, about £15.00 for the Combo option.
