help is greatly appreciated.?

For ease of use and great captures buy a stand alone dvd/hardrive recorder and attach a regular VHS player to it. The dvd/harddrive recorder is much more forgiving then a pc capture card. It records VHS video in one shot and with the limited menu functions you can burn a dvd without tying up your pc with footage, buying extra ram and/or larger harddrives. Of course re-editing the raw footage on my dvd's with my pc is still done, but now I don't need a capture card for that, just the editing software and a dvd burner to play with.
