Unhappy Canon HG10 Video question/error

Hi All, I hope that someone is able to help. I have not been able to engage my camcorder into recording video recently. I have been able to record before but now I am not even able to retrieve previous video clips. The mode is on and under the Camera mode. The switch is up to reflect video mode.

However, the only thing I see on the display when I do this is the HDD--h--m in the upper right corner of the screen. When I press the start/stop button nothing happens. In the troubleshooting section of the manual it suggests re-initializing the hard-disk but when I tried to do this from the menu option nothing happens when I ask it to re-initialize the HDD.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Ashwin

This sounds like the camcorder has become defective. If it's still under warranty, you will likely need to send it in for warranty maintenance.
