I am getting into surfing videography and right now I have a sony hard drive camcorder. This is just a consumer camera, but i now a good deal about prosumer ones and professional editing (I use final cut a lot).

So my budget is like 1500-1600 bucks and want to buy second hand.

I was initially looking at the HDR-FX7 for around 1500 used, but my friend told me about his older vx2000. I've done my homework and read a lot of review about the vx2000 and it says its a good camera, BUT THE REVIEWS ARE ALL FROM 2002.

So how do these two cameras compare?
