I have bought and returned 3 camcorders in the past two days because i can not upload the videos to my computer! I call the companies and they tell me the software that comes with the video cameras (JVC, Samsung, Aiptek) is for only to upload pictures, and that i have to buy different software and firewire stuff. I just want a video camera that i can upload the videos to my laptop with that i dont have to buy extra software for!

Sony has a camcorder that burns directly to a mini-dvd. Once you finalize the disc, you can put it into virtually any computer that as a DVD-rom. To put the video on your computer at that point is drag and drop.Panasonic has one as well. Avoid that one because they use a dvd format this is mostly retired.
