Hello, I have shot hours of footage of my kids playing sports with my Sony cx12 (1920x1080/60i) and am now trying to put it on standard DVD. I'm not happy with the results. I've tried many trial versions of editing software and Sony DVD Architect Pro 5 seems to do the best job, but still not impressed. I was hoping that my videos would look closer to the standard DVDs that I rent from say Blockbuster. After the down converting to 720x480p, I still don't get the smoothness I would expect and there are plenty of jaggies.
I have older DVDs that I made from a Canon camcorder that recorded in 480P 16x9 on mini DV tapes that look better. What's up with that?
Any ideas? Should I consider going to the Canon's with the 30p and 24P? Is my issue the interlacing? Is there something better than Sony DVD Architect Pro 5 for down converting? Thanks.
