    Default Windows Movie Maker Audio

Either I do not know enough about this application, or something is
wrong. I have searched through the threads and the help topics, and
either it isnt in here or i just havent found it.

When I try to add audio to a movie within movie maker, the audio does
not play, yes the audio plays in media player, yes the sound is turned
on, no the song is not muted, yes audio works withing Movie Player (
i.e., video has sound with it and is working ). I tried automovie and
making a " music video " , but WMM crashes when i do that, any
suggestions ( no matter how absurd ) is welcomed!

FWIW...just because a music file plays in Windows
Media Player does not insure that it is compatible
    with Movie Maker.

What is the format of the Audio (Music) file you are
importing into Movie Maker? You may need to convert
    it to a compatible format.

I know there is a long list of formats that are supposed
to be compatible with Movie Maker but the most reliable
    ones are:

    Photos - bmp
    Video - wmv or dv-avi
    Music - wmv, wma, wav

I suspect that will be the solution.

If you need a converter...try the following freebie:

    Free Mp3 Wma Converter
    http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
(Mp3, Wma, Ogg, Aac, M4a, Ac3, Ape, Flac, Wav)
(FWIW if you install the converter you may want to
uncheck the offers of Yahoo and Dealio) (also...you
may want to uncheck the CD Ripper and the Easy
    MP3 Cutter)

Thats exactly what it was. Even though the program SAYS it supports
different audio formats, the second I converted it to a .wma file, it
worked fine. THanks for the solution!
