My problem is an appearance-related one: the silver background in the wmp has
been replaced by an aqua background. Has anyone else encountered and managed
to fix this problem? My computer is a Dell M1210 notebook with an integrated
Intel 945GM Express Chipset video card.

You can use the Color Chooser enhancement in the player to change the color.
Perhaps that was tweaked?
