Default Win Media Player 11 Video Settings not working

When I try to adjust the Video Settings...brightness, contrast, Hue, etc...I
can move the slide bar, but it just returns to the middle setting as soon as
I release the mouse button. Any suggestions I have Win Vista Ultimate, WMP
11. Thanks

Most of the monitors have buttons on them to make these adjustments.

Again one of those odd Ultimate properties? It works fine here (Vista Home
Premium).
