| Thanks for your help, Chuck. I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Is that the answer - upgrade to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate to see enhanced metafiles? Ciarán. | There's no need to upgrade. The equivalent of Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in Vista is Windows Photo Gallery (but it has a lot of other features too in addition to viewing files). - Adam "Ciarán Ó Duibhín" <no.spam@thank.you> wrote in message news:eahqrmivJHA.5708@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Thanks for your help, Chuck. > I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. | Thanks for all suggestions. I have encountered Windows Photo Gallery, but how do you open a file in it? All I can see is "add a folder to a gallery", but I don't want to undertake a file management odyssey, I just want to view an image and close it and leave it as it was. If I go to my file in Vista and use "open with... WPG", I get WPG opened but no sign of my image. That's not equivalent to Picture and Fax Viewer in XP; it displayed the image as expected.. IrfanView, yes I'm a long-time user of this. When I tried to use it to view emfs long ago, it used to convert them to bitmaps at a particular resolution, and then it used to resize this bitmap, so it failed to take advantage of the unlimited resolution of emfs. Then I went off and happily used XP's Picture and Fax Viewer, which has now been taken from us, and we have WPG instead. So I'm very pleased to find that IrfanView has meanwhile rectified its problem, and now appears to recreate the display from the vector representation every time the display size is changed. It will do for me. Thank you.
