Default System Volume not loud enough

For the past few weeks, the system volume on my laptop is not very loud.
When we first got the laptop (a Toshiba) a few months ago, we could not even
have the volume up halfway and it was just fine. But now, trying to listen
to music, I have the volume up all the way and it's still not very loud. I
have changed the volume at the bottom where you click on the speaker icon and
it's up all the way. Even in Itunes where I listen to the songs, the volume
is up all the way, but it's not loud enough. I can hear the songs, but I
know it is supposed to get louder. Is this a Vista problem or a Toshiba
prolbem and how do I fix?

Default Re: System Volume not loud enough

Right click on the Speaker icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar, select
Playback Devices, in the Playback window, highlight speakers and check the
settings on the Levels tab.

What audio adapter do you have? Does it have it's own Audio Console, or Audio
Manager?
