| It all started when I found out that Dell locks the stereo mix feature (allows me to record sound for videos) and I was trying fixes that people said to do. Well, the first one I tried was this R171789 thing. Here is the link to it. https://support.dell.com/support/dow...&fileid=235761 That didn't work, so I tried something someone said in the comment section, which was to download this other Sigmatel Audio file. Here is the link for this one as well. LG Electronics Service Online :: Home Well, that didn't work either, so I was kind of mad but I gave up and started up CSS for some gaming time, and plugged in my microphone. It seemed weird, because I didnt hear the usual sound when i plug it in, and so i tried to use it and Whoaaa, its not working. I tried deleting and uninstalling what I had put in my computer but it didn't help, so now i'm not sure what to do. Oh yeah, my computer is a Dell Dimension E521 and if this matters at all I just installed a new 9600 NVidia graphics card about 3 weeks ago. |

| If you have a system restore point you can roll back to, then roll back to before you made the various changes. If not, your best bet is to return to the Dell driver site and install the original drivers for your sound card. It's likely you've managed to create a conflict by changing the drivers several times.
