Default file format is not supported

i recieved a JPED image but none of my programs will open it. please help

JPED? Try renaming the file with a
..jpg extension and see if it will open.

well im finding it is a jpeg extension i think. when i save it it says jpeg
but nothing will open it. I open jpegs all the time, i dont understand. i
checked and its not a read only file. hmmmmmmm im going in circles. anymore

You *think* it's a jpeg? Can't you look
at the file name and see the .jpg extension?

If you cannot see the extension...go into Folder
Options as shown in the following article and ...
uncheck..."Hide extensions for known file types"
/ Apply / OK.

Windows Vista -
Folder Options

Now can you see the extension? Is it .jpg?
Or something else?

Now it says its damaged or corrupted. i musta did something wrong. ive read
alot of help issues and still cant figure it out. i did what you said to. but
nothin. when i save it to my computer uder the file says jpeg, but paint,
photo gallery and none of my programs can open. Its supposed to be a logo
made for me.

Would it be possible for you to upload
the file to the following site and post the
download link here so I could have a
look at it?

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the browse button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into your newsgroup message.
