Default Adding FIles in Windows MEdia Center

I am attempting to add my music files to my Windows Media Center, anyone know
how long this normally takes? After selecting my folder it pops up on the
bottom right that it is adding media, it says it is searching for files and
it just keeps doing that. It has been running for a few hours now and is
still going. SHould it take this long? I have about 15 cd's worth of media in
the folder.

Thanks for the help

What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately.

I am running Trend Micro AntiVirus 2007. I just ran the setup on it for 4
hours and it still said it was searching and adding files yet nothing was
added.

As of recently Trend is known to cause problems.

Replace Trend with the free AVG http://free.grisoft.com/ or Avast
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html, and Windows Firewall and Windows
Defender. Disabling Trend is not enough. You need to completely uninstall
it.

I completely un-installed Trend and re-ran the process of adding media and it
appears to be the same as before, just continues to search for files
continuously.

Consider this: Whenever a new error condition appears on your computer, it
is almost certain that there was some change to the computer soon before the
problem began.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

I will take a look through things, see I never used the computer for playing
music so this is the first time I have tried adding music into the Windows
Media Center Liabrary, so I am not sure where it could be stemming from.
