It really depends upon what your needs are. Each type of camcorder has pros and cons. For example DVD records at a lower quality than MiniDV, but it is convenient because you record on DVD and then you can watch it on DVD forever.MiniDV takes some time and/or money to transfer it to DVD, just to make it easy to watch.HDD camcorders record at or better than DVD camcorders, but lower than MiniDV.
